Morocco’s tourism sector showed impressive strength in July, drawing 2.7 million visitors—a 6% increase compared to the same month last year. This growth reflects a continued rebound in both international arrivals and visits from Moroccans living abroad.

Foreign travelers made up 875,000 of the total, a modest uptick of 2% year-on-year. The bigger boost, however, came from the Moroccan diaspora, with 1.8 million entries—marking a solid 7% rise over July 2024. The strong turnout from overseas Moroccans suggests a growing emotional connection with their country of origin, especially during the summer months when many return for family reunions and holidays.

Since the start of 2025, Morocco has welcomed 11.6 million tourists, a 16% jump compared to the same seven-month stretch last year. Notably, more than half—52%—of these visitors were part of the Moroccan diaspora, underlining their essential role in driving the country’s tourism momentum.

Tourism Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor called the figures a reflection of Morocco’s enduring appeal—both as a place of personal connection and as a destination full of discovery. She credited the continued growth to a deliberate strategy aimed at diversifying the tourist base and enhancing visitor experiences. These efforts are part of the country’s 2023–2026 tourism roadmap, which focuses on elevating infrastructure, service quality, and cultural offerings to meet the evolving expectations of travelers from around the world.
