Morocco’s Foreign Exchange Office has signed a partnership deal with the National Council of the Order of Chartered Accountants to work more closely together and share information.

The agreement was signed on Tuesday 24 February in Casablanca by the director of the Office des changes, Driss Benchikh, and the president of the Conseil national de l’Ordre des experts-comptables, Faïçal Mekouar.

Under the deal, the two sides will run joint training sessions and skills programmes in areas they both work on. They also plan to carry out economic and financial studies together, and organise awareness campaigns and professional events.

The signing took place during a meeting about the 2026 General Instruction on Foreign Exchange Operations (IGOC). Officials explained the main changes, including a new structure for the text, easier rules in some areas, and how the new measures will work in practice.

In a statement, the Foreign Exchange Office said the agreement shows its commitment to working closely with partners, sharing expertise and supporting professionals to help the country’s economy grow.

The meeting also looked at how to better support businesses and highlighted the key role of chartered accountants in making sure foreign exchange rules are clearly understood and properly applied.
