BANK OF AFRICA has launched a new programme to help Morocco's very small, small and medium-sized businesses grow

BANK OF AFRICA has launched a new programme to help Morocco’s very small, small and medium-sized businesses grow by giving them easier access to finance, business advice and expert support. The programme, called Pacte TPME, was launched in Casablanca on Tuesday during the National MSME Meetings, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

The bank developed the initiative with Maroc PME, the government agency that supports small businesses. The two organisations have worked together for more than 20 years.

Instead of offering only loans, Pacte TPME combines financing with business advice, technical support and access to a network of partners. The aim is to help businesses grow, become more competitive and deal with economic challenges.

The programme focuses on four areas: helping businesses improve the way they operate, become more resilient, boost their competitiveness and support their long-term growth.

BANK OF AFRICA said it wants to become “a growth partner for businesses” by providing “answers tailored to their needs and development prospects.”

Several agreements are expected to be signed during the event with Maroc PME, Réseau Entreprendre Maroc, the National Federation of Agribusiness (FENAGRI), and Casablanca’s industrial zones, including IZDIHAR, AZIAN and CFICIM.

The partnerships are designed to bring support services closer to businesses, with a focus on financing, entrepreneurship, green transition and regional development.

Small businesses are a key part of Morocco’s economy. They make up more than 95% of all companies and create a large share of jobs. But many still struggle to get bank loans because they lack formal financial records, collateral or a credit history.

Maroc PME has set a goal of supporting 4,000 businesses by 2030 and helping create or protect 54,000 jobs. The agency is also expanding its regional services so entrepreneurs across Morocco can access its programmes more easily.

The launch comes as Moroccan businesses face growing pressure to meet international environmental standards, especially from the European Union. The new programme aims to help companies invest in greener operations and stay competitive in export markets.

Pacte TPME is the second major business support programme launched by BANK OF AFRICA this year. It follows PME INVEST, which focuses on investment financing under Morocco’s National Investment Charter. While PME INVEST helps businesses fund large investment projects, Pacte TPME is aimed at supporting companies throughout their growth with finance, mentoring and practical advice.
