Alfa Romeo has launched the Tonale SUV in Morocco with a 1.6-litre diesel engine. The model comes in two versions, with prices starting at MAD 387,000. The Tonale is now on sale at Alfa Romeo dealerships across the country. Buyers can choose between the Edition LEIL, priced at MAD 387,000, and the higher-spec VELOCE, which costs MAD 460,000.
The SUV keeps Alfa Romeo’s familiar front design with the “Trilobo” styling, “Scudetto” grille and Full LED headlights. A panoramic sunroof comes as standard. The Edition LEIL has 18-inch alloy wheels, while the VELOCE adds 19-inch wheels, Matrix Full LED headlights and red Brembo brake calipers.
Inside, the Tonale has a 12.3-inch digital driver display and a 10.25-inch touchscreen with built-in navigation. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, dual-zone climate control and keyless entry are included as standard.
The VELOCE also comes with leather seats, heated and ventilated front seats with electric adjustment, a heated steering wheel and wireless phone charging.
Power comes from a 1.6-litre four-cylinder Multijet II turbo diesel engine producing 130hp and 320Nm of torque. It is paired with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox that drives the front wheels.
The SUV also features a 13.6:1 steering ratio, an Integrated Braking System (IBS) with brake-by-wire technology and, on the VELOCE, four-piston Brembo front brake calipers.
Safety features include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and traffic sign recognition. The VELOCE adds a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring and parking assistance.
Diesel-powered premium SUVs remain popular with drivers who regularly travel between cities such as Casablanca, Rabat, Marrakech and Tangier. The Tonale gives Alfa Romeo a stronger presence in this part of the market.
The SUV is distributed by Stellantis Morocco through its dealer network, including Auto Hall. It joins the Stelvio SUV and Giulia saloon in the company’s local range.
Alfa Romeo is the premium Italian brand of Stellantis, the carmaker formed by the merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and PSA Group in 2021.
Stellantis reported net revenue of $49.6bn in the second quarter of 2026. Operating profit reached $801.2m, while net income stood at $303.6m.
The Tonale is Alfa Romeo’s main global model by sales volume and plays a key role in the company’s plan to improve profits while investing in electric vehicles.
