The National Agency for Water and Forests (ANEF) has recently adopted a series of technological solutions aimed at promoting modern and efficient management of hunting activities while ensuring biodiversity preservation.
These digitalization projects, initiated under the “Forests of Morocco 2020-2030” strategy, encompass technical forest management, forest policing, fire prevention and monitoring, as well as the improvement of administrative processes.
This approach optimizes operations, enhances service transparency and efficiency, and establishes an integrated management system for real-time monitoring and more effective intervention planning.
A significant aspect of this digital transformation involves the management of hunting activities. The digitalization of this domain has become essential due to its increasing importance and rapid development in recent years.
Morocco currently has 68,000 hunters and 1,562 leased hunting lots, including 193 reserved for tourist hunting. ANEF highlighted that this activity plays a crucial role in the institution’s strategy, with 110 accredited organizers operating over more than one million hectares.
To this end, the agency has developed several hunting-related applications. One such application provides hunters with interactive maps of reserves and leased hunting areas, allowing them to easily identify open and closed zones and facilitating activity planning.
The primary goal of these applications is to reduce processing times for requests, facilitate access to information for hunters, and ensure more efficient management of hunting resources.
ANEF plans to develop additional applications focused on collecting hunting statistics, issuing hunting documents, and organizing boar hunts outside critical areas.
All these services will be integrated into a centralized portal named “Masyad,” which will serve as a single access point for all hunters, offering a multitude of services and information in one place.
