Morocco’s tech industry group APEBI has chosen a new leadership team for the next two years, with Rachid Ressani elected president and Hind Berrada elected vice president.
The pair won 95% of the vote during APEBI’s General Assembly.
Their election opens a new chapter for the federation, which represents companies operating in information technology, telecommunications and offshoring.
Ressani, CEO of IT ROAD Group, is no stranger to the organisation. He has previously served as a board member, treasurer and spokesperson for APEBI. Berrada brings experience in digital transformation, organisational change and talent development.
The new leadership takes over from outgoing president Redouane El Haloui and vice president Abdelkarim Mazouzi.
APEBI said its priorities for the 2026-2028 term will include supporting innovation, improving the competitiveness of Moroccan tech companies and helping the sector expand internationally.
The change comes at an important time for Morocco’s digital economy. The country is pushing ahead with its Digital Morocco 2030 strategy, which aims to move more public services online and strengthen Morocco’s position as a regional technology hub.
APEBI plays a key role in that effort. Founded in 1989, the federation acts as the main representative of Morocco’s private technology sector and works closely with public authorities on issues such as digital policy, skills development and investment.
The sector continues to grow, but challenges remain. Morocco’s ICT and telecom industries contribute around 6.8% of GDP, while the offshoring sector employs nearly 150,000 people and generates more than 26 billion dirhams in export revenues.
One of the biggest issues facing the industry is a shortage of skilled workers. Morocco produces around 18,000 ICT graduates each year, but the sector needs an estimated 40,000 professionals annually to meet demand.
