Aradei Capital, a publicly listed real estate investment company on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, is making its sustainability shift crystal clear. The firm has just unveiled the latest progress of its ESG roadmap, branded “Bricks for Impact,” which now drives its operations across three pillars: environmental responsibility, community engagement, and human capital development.
On the environmental front, two of Aradei’s properties recently earned prestigious green building certifications—EDGE and EDGE Advanced—from the International Finance Corporation, a World Bank Group affiliate. These certifications were awarded to the Sela Park shopping center in Casablanca and the International Clinic in Khouribga. With these additions, 10% of the company’s multi-tenant properties are now environmentally certified.
Aradei is also expanding its commitment to renewable energy. Close to 1,300 solar panels have been installed across three of its major sites—Borj Fez, Socco Alto, and Atacadao Meknès—cutting electricity consumption by an average of 22%. Additional energy-saving measures are being implemented as well. Adiabatic cooling systems have reduced air conditioning needs by 10% at three properties, all common areas have been upgraded to energy-efficient LED lighting, and seven sites are now equipped with electric vehicle charging stations—a feature the company plans to roll out more widely.
On the social impact side, Aradei has established a presence in 23 cities across Morocco, supporting nearly 8,000 direct and indirect jobs. The company has also made significant contributions to local economies by offering commercial spaces valued at over two million dirhams free of charge in eleven cities, supporting artisans and small businesses. In response to the Al Haouz disaster, Aradei opened up a 1,000-square-meter space in Casablanca to host a solidarity exhibition featuring around 60 young artists.
The company has also taken part in various local infrastructure improvement projects. These include the renovation of a school near Tangier, upgrades to a community center run by SOS Village in Dar Bouazza, and support for the Moroccan Union for Animal Protection’s shelter in Bouskoura.
Internally, Aradei Capital is highlighting strides in workplace diversity. Women now make up 46% of the total workforce, hold 40% of management roles, and occupy 30% of board seats. The company says it’s committed to building a more inclusive workplace, with a particular focus on advancing female leadership and ensuring an environment where talent can thrive.
