The Competition Council’s Standing Committee has approved a major consolidation move in Morocco’s hospitality sector. Atlas Hotels Property Morocco, which previously shared control of Meeting Point Hotels Morocco, has now acquired full ownership by purchasing the 50% stake held by German travel group FTI Touristik. The deal gives Atlas Hotels complete control over the company, which operates the Labranda Targa, a four-star hotel with 239 rooms located in Marrakech.

Headquartered in Casablanca, Atlas Hotels Property Morocco focuses on developing and managing hospitality assets, from refurbishing existing properties to building new ones. Meeting Point Hotels Morocco was originally established as a joint venture between Atlas and FTI Touristik, created specifically to oversee the Marrakech hotel’s operations.

With this acquisition now official, the Council’s decision clears the way for Atlas Hotels to manage the Labranda Targa independently. Operating under the Labranda brand, the hotel will now benefit from a more streamlined and cohesive strategy. Atlas can steer the future direction of the property without needing to coordinate with a partner, allowing for more agile decision-making and potentially faster adaptation to market trends in Marrakech’s competitive hotel landscape.
