Attijariwafa Bank has added a new feature to its Attijari Mobile app to help families send money to students studying overseas. The service is aimed at nearly 100,000 Moroccan students abroad.
Families used to visit bank branches several times and deal with paperwork. Now they only need one visit to set up the student file. After that, parents can send money from their phone without going back to the bank.
The app lets families pay tuition fees directly to schools. It also allows regular transfers for everyday expenses. Rent can be paid straight to landlords or sent to students.
Most transfers arrive within 48 hours. The app sends notifications so families can track the payment until it reaches the student. The service uses the bank’s network of partner banks abroad.
The bank says the tool is part of its push to grow digital banking in Morocco and make life easier for families paying for studies abroad.
