More than 1,200 people will meet in Tangier in October to discuss how companies and public organisations can make better use of artificial intelligence. The eighth AUSIM Conference will run from 7 to 9 October. Its main focus will be AI, data security and control over technology. The event will ask how organisations can use AI in their daily work without losing control of their data or becoming too dependent on foreign technology.
The programme will include talks, workshops and real business cases. Leaders from CIH Bank, OCP, Marjane, Orange and INWI are expected to attend.
International speakers will also join the event, including experts in Estonia’s digital government system and specialists in AI and data governance.
“At the AUSIM Conference, we do not come to observe tech gadgets; we come to define the decision-making framework that allows us to transition from pilot projects to industrial-scale impact on our balance sheets, all while ensuring the sovereignty of our national data,” said AUSIM president Mohamed Saad.
The General Directorate of Information Systems Security (DGSSI) and the National Commission for the Protection of Personal Data (CNDP) will also take part.
AUSIM wants the conference to focus on moving AI projects from testing to wider use. Data management, cybersecurity and regulatory requirements will also be discussed.
Tangier was chosen as the host city partly because of its role as a major transport and industrial centre. The Tangier Med port connects local companies to international supply chains.
The conference will be held at the Hilton Houara Tangier. Registration is open until 30 September.
