A Canadian mining company with big operations in Morocco is shaking up its leadership as it grows fast. Aya Gold & Silver wants Ghislane Guedira to become chair of its board. Shareholders will vote at the annual meeting on 12 June in Mont-Royal.

The change comes after a very strong year, helped by rising production at the Zgounder Mine. The company made $202m in revenue in 2025 and generated $72m in operating cash. Earnings per share reached $0.32. The mine’s life has been extended to 2036, and production in 2026 is expected to reach between 6.2 and 6.8 million ounces of silver equivalent.

Ms Guedira joined the board in 2024 and now leads A.P. Moller Capital Morocco. She previously held senior roles at Groupe OCP, including chief financial officer. The company says her experience in finance and mining will help guide its growing business in Morocco.

Two long-serving directors, Robert Taub and Juergen Hambrecht, will step down after the meeting.

Shareholders will also vote on two new board members: Krystal Ramsden and Yves Bonin, a former partner at PwC.

The company says the board changes reflect its recent growth, its listing on Nasdaq and its plans to keep expanding while strengthening its ties to Morocco.
