Bank of Africa has started its 2026 summer campaign for Moroccans living abroad with a music event in Agadir. The campaign, called “Everywhere, Morocco is within us,” mixes cultural activities with banking services for people returning home for the summer. It is running across the country and in several countries with large Moroccan communities.

Popular chaabi singer Zina Daoudia performed at the launch event, which attracted a large family crowd.

Mounir Jazouli, Central Director of Communication and Institutional Relations at Bank of Africa, said the campaign is about helping Moroccans living abroad reconnect with their roots. “These gatherings create moments of exchange that go beyond banking services. They allow Moroccans living abroad to reconnect with their national heritage through music, craftsmanship, gastronomy and traditions.”

The programme will continue with events in Tangier and Nador. It also includes open days, regional investment forums and welcome services at major ports and airports during the summer.

Bank of Africa customers also shared their experiences.

Abdelaziz Houays returned to live in the country after spending several years in France. “The bank supported my investment projects.”

Hafida Bakrim, a customer based in France, praised the support provided by the bank’s teams. “The guidance is excellent, and the teams stay close to Moroccans living abroad.”

Real estate entrepreneur Abdelmoula Boutabaa highlighted the bank’s digital services. “Customers can complete most financing procedures from their country of residence and only need to finalise the remaining paperwork after arriving.”

The campaign runs during Operation Marhaba, the annual programme that helps millions of Moroccans living abroad return home each summer.

People living abroad remain an important part of the economy. According to the Office des Changes, they send home more than 100 billion dirhams ($10bn-$11bn) every year. That equals about 7% to 8% of GDP.

These transfers are one of the country’s biggest sources of foreign currency, alongside tourism and phosphate exports. They also account for a large share of bank deposits.

Many people use their summer holiday to buy property or launch businesses. Bank of Africa lets customers start mortgage and business loan applications online before travelling and complete the final formalities after arriving.
