Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP) has received ISO 45001 certification for its historic headquarters in Casablanca and its Diouri Data Center. The certification covers the bank’s headquarters on Boulevard Zerktouni and the Diouri Data Center. AFNOR issued the certification after an audit of the two sites.
ISO 45001 sets standards for workplace health and safety. It aims to prevent work-related injuries, reduce risks and protect employees.
BCP’s system focuses on identifying and assessing risks in its workplaces. The bank has also introduced safety measures, emergency procedures and regular training for employees.
The system includes regular checks of safety procedures and their performance. The aim is to identify problems and improve the way risks are managed.
The certification also covers the principles of the International Labour Organization’s C155 and C187 conventions, which Morocco has ratified.
The move follows BCP’s renewal of its ISO 50001 energy management certification in December 2024. The same two sites were covered by that certification.
BCP plans to extend ISO 45001 certification to other locations. The BCP Tower at Casablanca Finance City will be the next site covered by the programme.
The bank is applying the same safety framework to its offices and data centre facilities, which have different operational risks but are both important to its daily operations.
