Casablanca has officially joined the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities, a distinction that highlights the city’s commitment to lifelong learning, social inclusion, innovation, and sustainable development. With this international recognition, the Moroccan metropolis aligns itself more closely with the goals set out in the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Agenda.
The city’s inclusion in the network marks a significant step forward in promoting education as a key driver of progress. The Faculty of Legal, Economic, and Social Sciences in Ain Chock welcomed the announcement, emphasizing UNESCO’s pivotal role in fostering such initiatives. The institution also expressed its intention to play an active part in this new chapter by leveraging its educational and research programs. It plans to strengthen local partnerships and establish itself as a key player in building a more equitable, forward-thinking, and sustainable urban future.
