Casa Transports has announced that Casablanca’s new tramway lines, T3 and T4, will officially commence operations next Monday. This follows a trial phase, which began in May, where the tramways ran without passengers. The pre-launch testing ensured that all necessary adjustments were made to guarantee the comfort and safety of passengers.
The two lines add 26.5 kilometers to the city’s tram network and feature 39 passenger stations in total. The 14 km-long T3 line, which includes 20 stations, connects the Al-Wahda and Salmia districts to Casa Port, running along major boulevards such as 10 Mars, Abdelkader Sahraoui, and Mohammed VI.
The T4 line, spanning 12.5 km with 19 stations, links the Moulay Rachid industrial zone to the Arab League Park, following routes that include the Oqba and Driss El-Harti boulevards.
These two new lines enhance Casablanca’s dedicated public transport network (TCSP), increasing the overall tram service length to 98 kilometers—three times its size when first launched in December 2012. The system now boasts 151 passenger stations and 12 transfer points, providing expanded mobility options for the city’s residents.
The T3 and T4 lines will operate from 5:30 AM to 10:30 PM, ensuring continuity with the already operational T1 and T2 tram lines and the Bw1 and Bw2 busways. Initially, 24 tram cars will serve both lines with a frequency of one every 10 minutes. Eventually, a fleet of 40 Alstom X05 tram cars, each capable of carrying 600 passengers, will enable a frequency of one tram every five minutes.
