Cash Plus and Damanesign launch e-signature service

Cash Plus and Damanesign have launched a new service that lets businesses and professionals apply for qualified electronic signature certificates at Cash Plus branches. The service starts with 13 branches in 11 cities: Agadir, Casablanca, Dakhla, Fez, Kenitra, Laayoune, Marrakech, Nador, Oujda, Rabat and Tangier.

The new service is designed to make the process easier for businesses, public institutions and professionals who need electronic certificates for online administrative procedures.

Customers can go to a participating Cash Plus branch and submit their application. Staff at the branch complete the required identity checks. Damanesign then reviews and validates the application. Once it is approved, the customer collects a secure USB token containing the electronic certificate.

The service is available to organisations of all sizes, import-export companies and regulated professionals, including notaries, experts and lawyers.

The certificate can be used for several important online services. These include customs declarations through the BADR platform, access to public procurement markets, the Rokhas platform and GID Fournisseurs.

BADR, or Base Automatisée des Douanes en Réseau, is the Customs Administration platform used for import-export declarations. Rokhas is the national digital platform for urban planning and authorisation requests. The Public Markets Portal is used by companies applying for state contracts and tenders. GID Fournisseurs is an integrated government platform used to manage state spending involving suppliers.

The service operates under Law No. 43-20 on trust services for electronic transactions. The law sets the legal framework for electronic signatures and other trust services and replaced older rules in this area.

Damanesign is operated by Barid Al-Maghrib and is an approved trust service provider recognised by the General Directorate for Information Systems Security (DGSSI). It provides electronic signatures, timestamps and website authentication and is responsible for issuing the certificates and ensuring they meet regulatory requirements.

Cash Plus provides the physical branches and customer service needed for the process. Its nationwide network allows customers to complete the identity verification and certificate collection steps closer to where they work and live.

The partnership links online government services with physical customer access. Many administrative procedures are moving away from paper, but identity verification can still require people to appear in person.

The new service gives businesses and professionals a local option for completing that step and obtaining the secure credentials needed to use several digital government platforms.
