Rwandan President, Mr. Paul Kagame, received, Tuesday at Urugwiro village in Kigali Moroccan Bouchra Hajij, president of the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) and of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Volleyball (FRMVB).
This audience took place on the occasion of the 23rd edition of the Volleyball African Nations Championship, which is held in the Rwandan capital.
Speaking to MAP at the end of this meeting, Ms. Hajij said that discussions focused on the means to strengthen cooperation between CAVB and Rwanda.
“This audience was also an opportunity to thank the Rwandan government for the organization and smooth running of the African Nations Volleyball Championship despite the difficult health situation,” she said, welcoming the “effective” health protocol put in place by the Rwandan authorities.
The 2021 edition of the volleyball championship set an unprecedented record in terms of participating countries, despite the global health crisis, said Ms. Hajij.
She added that this audience also provided the opportunity to discuss the ways to strengthen cooperation between the Moroccan Federation of Volleyball and the Rwandan Volleyball Federation, in particular through the signing of partnership agreements.
Tunisian men’s volleyball team retained its title of African champion on Tuesday in Kigali, beating Cameroon (3-1) in the final.
Egypt, for its part, won the third place, after its victory against Morocco (3-1).
