Cement sales rise 1.12% by June 2024, despite June slump

Cement deliveries in Morocco surpassed 6.27 million tons (Mt) by the end of June 2024, marking a 1.12% increase compared to the same period last year, according to the Professional Association of Cement Producers (APC).

However, for June alone, sales dropped significantly to 746,072 tons, down from 1.05 Mt in June 2023, representing a decrease of 29.15%, as reported by the APC on their website.

Breaking down the deliveries by segment, distribution accounted for 3.60 Mt, while ready-mix concrete (BPE) received 1.40 Mt. Prefabricated concrete (PREFA) deliveries stood at 607,359 tons, followed by the building sector with 202,522 tons, infrastructure with 421,032 tons, and mortars with 32,971 tons.

The APC consists of major industry players such as Asment Témara, Ciments de l’Atlas, Ciments du Maroc, LafargeHolcim Maroc, and Novacim.
