The government has decided to take a series of preventive measures, starting on Friday July 23, 2021 at 11 p.m., in order to combat the spread of the new Coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19 ), so as to preserve the health of citizens and this, in accordance with the recommendations of the Technical and Scientific Committee and given the increasing number of contaminations and deaths recorded in recent days.
These measures concern the ban on night travel throughout the Kingdom from 11 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., with the exception of people working in vital and essential sectors and activities and those with urgent medical cases, a government press release said on Monday. In addition, travel between prefectures and provinces requires the presentation of the vaccination passport or an administrative travel authorization issued by the competent territorial authorities, in addition to the ban on parties and weddings, as well as funerals, with a maximum of 10 people during funeral ceremonies.
These measures also concern the respect of a maximum of 50% of the reception capacity in cafes and restaurants, public transportation and public swimming pools, while gatherings and activities in open spaces must not exceed 50 people, with the obligation to have an authorization issued by the local authorities if this number is exceeded, added the press release.
While stressing that the danger of the spread of the pandemic is still present and continuing, especially after the recurrent appearance of new variants in the Kingdom, the government noted that the current situation requires strict compliance with all the guidelines of the public authorities and of all the preventive measures adopted by the health authorities, including physical distancing, hygiene rules and the compulsory wearing of a mask in order to preserve the important achievements made by Morocco in its fight against the pandemic.
