CSPJ, Public Prosecutor’s Office, Court of Auditors Sign MoU

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the fight against corruption and the enshrinement of the principle of accountability was signed Wednesday in Rabat between the Supreme Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ), the Presidency of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Court of Auditors.

The agreement which establishes a framework for cooperation between the stakeholders was signed by first president of the Court of Cassation and deputy president of the CSPJ, Mohamed Abdennabaoui, public prosecutor at the Court of Cassation, president of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, El Hassan Daki, president of the Court of Auditors, Zineb El Adaoui, and public prosecutor at the Court of Auditors, Brahim Ben Bih.

During the signing ceremony, emphasis was placed on the importance of coordination and complementarity between the signatories, for the moralization of public life and affairs and the establishment of values of transparency and integrity, through an exchange of information and expertise and the qualification of human resources.

This is the first time that the ordinary and financial jurisdictions join their efforts on issues of common interest, said Abdennabaoui, explaining that the pooling of their efforts aims to create bridges of professional communication to achieve efficiency in the fight against corruption.

President of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, El Hassan Daki, said that this memorandum of understanding is in line with the implementation of the provisions of the Constitution which is based on the principle of cooperation between powers on the basis of the principle of accountability.

“The signing of this agreement has a great symbolic significance and is an act full of meanings and signals on the willingness to establish a general framework of cooperation and complementarity between the signatories, “said El Adaoui in a statement to MAP.
