Dacia might be preparing to take a bold step forward in Morocco with its best-selling Sandero Stepway. Unconfirmed reports suggest the brand is considering launching a 155-horsepower hybrid version as early as January 2026—a significant upgrade for a model that’s become a staple on Moroccan roads.
The new powertrain, already announced as part of the 2026 facelift in Europe, would feature what’s being called the “Hybrid 155.” This system would pair a next-generation gasoline engine with an electric motor to deliver both improved performance and better fuel efficiency. If introduced, it would mark a major leap in horsepower for the Stepway in Morocco, far surpassing anything the model has offered in the market to date.
Given Dacia’s strong presence in Morocco and the growing appetite for hybrid vehicles, the country is seen as a likely early recipient of the new version. However, the company has yet to confirm any specifics. Neither Dacia Morocco nor the Renault Group has provided official details on launch dates, trim levels, or pricing.
Should the hybrid Stepway make its debut in 2026 as expected, it would represent a key milestone for the brand. The move would allow Dacia to modernize its lineup while continuing to offer the affordability that has long defined its appeal.
