French car brand DS Automobiles is turning its Casablanca showroom into a cultural space during the final days of Ramadan, offering a series of evening events for the public.

From 12 to 15 March, the DS Café Culturel on Boulevard Massira is hosting after-ftour gatherings featuring poetry, music, photography, and cooking. The idea is to create a relaxed space for people to meet, talk, and discover new things in a setting usually reserved for cars.

The programme started on 12 March with Sufi poetry. Writer Hassan El Jaï read his texts while musician Saïd Nouir played traditional instruments like the ney or oud, and singer Mustapha Benrahhal performed Samâa and Andalusian songs. Samâa is an old Moroccan practice where listening to music is a spiritual experience, and Andalusian music blends Arab, Berber, and Spanish influences from centuries ago.

On 13 March, photographer Laurence von der Weid shared her work and ran a mobile photography workshop. She taught people how to use their smartphones for photography, focusing on composition and light. Casablanca’s streets, with their Art Deco buildings and interesting shadows, make it a great place for taking creative photos.

On 14 March, the band Jubantouja performed an acoustic set. Their music mixes pop-rock with Amazigh influences from the High Atlas. They sing mostly in Tamazight, keeping the local language and rhythms alive while giving them a modern twist.

The final evening, 15 March, was about food and cooking, with chef Omar Bennis leading a workshop. Participants learned about Moroccan ingredients like argan oil, Taliouine saffron, and local spices, combined with modern cooking techniques. Holding the workshop after ftour highlights how food is both a social and sensory part of Ramadan.

By opening its showroom to these events, DS Automobiles combines luxury design with creativity and cultural experiences. The showroom’s leather and elegant finishes reflect the brand’s focus on craftsmanship and lifestyle.

Events are open by registration, giving people in Casablanca a chance to enjoy art, music, photography, and food in one place.
