Fouzi Lekjaa, the head of Morocco’s football federation, has secured another term on the executive council of the Arab Football Union, reaffirming his role as one of Africa’s key representatives in the organization.

His reappointment was confirmed on Monday in Riyadh during the Union’s 28th General Assembly, where members endorsed his continued involvement by unanimous acclaim. Lekjaa will join fellow African representatives Hani Abou Rida from Egypt, Ahmed Yahya from Mauritania, and Moatasem Jaafar from Sudan, according to an official statement from Morocco’s football federation.

During the same meeting, it was also announced that Morocco will host the final stage of the Women’s Arab Cup in 2027. The tournament is scheduled to run from September 2 to 18 and is expected to be a major event for women’s football in the region.
