German car parts maker BENTELER opens new factory in Morocco with 300 jobs

BENTELER officially opened the plant at the Atlantic Free Zone. The factory started operating about a year after construction began.

A new car parts factory has opened in Kenitra, creating more than 300 direct jobs and adding another supplier to Morocco’s growing automotive industry. German industrial group BENTELER officially opened the plant at the Atlantic Free Zone. The factory started operating about a year after construction began.

From summer 2026, the site will produce front and rear bumpers, rear axles, suspension arms, and impact protection beams for a global car manufacturer.

The factory has a 3,200 tonne press, robotic welding systems, a cataphoresis coating line, and 3D laser technology.

BENTELER said the plant was built as a smart factory using digital systems to improve production, quality, and efficiency.

The company said it chose Morocco because of its skilled workers, strong industrial infrastructure, strategic location, and growing renewable energy sector.

The Kenitra site includes a 17,000 square metre factory built on a 50,000 square metre plot. It is part of BENTELER’s Automotive Components division, the group’s biggest business.

The company said the new plant supports its “local for local” strategy, which means building factories close to customers to improve deliveries, make supply chains more flexible, and reduce transport emissions.

BENTELER’s 2025 financial results showed revenue of €8.046bn and adjusted EBITDA of €641m, up 8% from €594m the previous year.

The company also secured €600m through a bond and agreed a €1.4bn credit facility to support its long-term financing.

Its Automotive Components division reported adjusted EBITDA of €361m in 2025. The Automotive Modules division recorded €115m, while the Steel/Tube business generated €1.308bn in revenue and adjusted EBITDA of €162m.

BENTELER said more than 70% of its production plants worldwide now run entirely on green electricity. The company added that Morocco’s renewable energy infrastructure was one of the reasons behind its latest investment.

Founded in Germany in 1876, BENTELER is marking its 150th anniversary in 2026. The group is now managed from Salzburg, Austria. It also owns HOLON, a company developing fully autonomous electric vehicles for public transport.
