Cash Plus has introduced instant bank transfers through its Cash Plus Mobile app, allowing people to send and receive money at any time of day.

The service works 24/7 and connects with all major banks, removing the usual delays for transfers between different banks.

Nabil Ammar, CEO of Cash Plus, said: “This update is a vital step in making the app a daily financial companion.” He added: “The goal is to provide fast, effective solutions that are accessible at any time.”

The company says its digital platform is growing quickly. The app now has more than 4 million users. Cash Plus runs 5,400 agencies across the country, with 23% in rural areas to help more people access financial services. Its QR code payment system is accepted by more than 46,000 partner merchants.

The launch supports Morocco’s wider plan to rely less on cash. Bank Al-Maghrib has been pushing a national strategy to expand electronic payments and bring more people into the formal banking system.

Fintech companies are increasingly targeting people without full access to banking. Cash Plus has placed nearly a quarter of its agencies in rural areas, combining digital tools with physical locations. The approach aims to build trust while keeping cash services available.

Instant transfers also put Cash Plus in direct competition with the Interbank Monetary Center and banking apps that recently launched similar features. Across North Africa and the Gulf, instant payment systems are becoming common. They tend to increase transaction activity and help small businesses manage daily cash needs.

Cash Plus says the update is part of a plan to become a “super-app”. Future services are expected to include micro-insurance, consumer credit and utility bill payments in one place.
