LabelVie is celebrating its 40th anniversary after a strong start to 2026, with higher sales, dozens of new stores and plans to keep growing over the next two years.

Founded in 1986, the retail group now runs 471 stores in 37 cities under five brands: Carrefour, Carrefour Market, Carrefour Express, Atacadao and Supeco. The company employs more than 10,000 people and is listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.

A nationwide anniversary campaign across its stores helped attract more shoppers in May. Like-for-like sales rose 16.2% during the month. Over the first five months of 2026, comparable sales were up 7.1%.

The group also reported strong first-quarter results. Revenue reached MAD 4.709 billion ($470.9 million), up 16.4% from a year earlier. Like-for-like sales increased 4.1% during the quarter.

LabelVie opened 60 new stores between January and May, adding almost 14,500 square metres of retail space.

Each retail brand played a role in the expansion. Atacadao, the group’s wholesale cash-and-carry chain for businesses and bulk shoppers, opened a new store in Khénifra during the first quarter. Carrefour Express, its convenience store chain, added five new outlets in the first five months of the year, already more than the three stores opened during the whole of 2025. Carrefour hypermarkets, Carrefour Market supermarkets and Supeco discount stores also continued expanding as part of the group’s multi-format strategy.

“The results achieved since the beginning of the year reflect the strength of our multi-format model and the loyalty of our customers,” Chief Executive Naoual Ben Amar said.

LabelVie aims to generate nearly MAD 28 billion ($2.8 billion) in revenue by 2028 while reaching an EBITDA margin of about 9.3%. The plan focuses on expanding all five retail brands across the country.

The company is also expanding employee ownership, with some staff recently becoming shareholders.
