LabelVie rides high in 2025 with strong retail growth and expansion

Attijari highlights Label Vie’s bold expansion and strategic shift

LabelVie has kicked off 2025 with strong momentum, posting an 8.7 percent increase in revenue for the first quarter, which totaled 4.2 billion dirhams. The retail sector remains the driving force behind this growth, with sales surging by 11.6 percent compared to the same period last year.

A key factor in this performance has been the company’s aggressive store expansion strategy. Since January, LabelVie has opened 28 new stores under the Supeco brand, reinforcing its commitment to a multi-format and omnichannel retail model. This expansion strategy has been a cornerstone of the group’s ongoing market penetration efforts.

Even on a like-for-like basis, the retail division has shown signs of improvement, with merchandise sales climbing by 2 percent, reflecting a more favorable economic environment compared to previous quarters. This modest but positive trend underscores a gradual recovery in consumer spending and market conditions.

The company has also maintained its investment drive, with capital expenditures reaching 331 million dirhams in the first quarter, slightly up from 328 million dirhams during the same period in 2024. Despite this sustained investment, LabelVie has kept its net debt under control, which stood at 4.3 billion dirhams at the end of March.

Looking ahead, LabelVie remains confident in meeting its full-year targets for 2025. The company aims to surpass 19 billion dirhams in revenue, in line with its 2024-2028 strategic roadmap. It also expects to maintain an EBITDA margin around 9.3 percent, consistent with its long-term financial goals.

Established in 1986, LabelVie has grown into Morocco’s leading multi-format retail group. It operates a diverse portfolio of brands, including Carrefour, Carrefour Market, Carrefour Express, Atacadao, and Supeco, with a network of 298 stores across 33 cities. Listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, the company employs over 9,000 people and actively pursues a strong corporate social responsibility program.
