Les Eaux Minérales d’Oulmès wins top honors for sustainability at ‘Arabia CSR Awards’

Les Eaux Minérales d’Oulmès, a Moroccan leader in the bottled water industry, has reinforced its dedication to sustainable practices and social responsibility by winning the first prize at the prestigious Arabia CSR Awards 2024. This accolade, awarded in the “Large-Sized Enterprises” category, highlights the company’s commitment to ethical practices and environmental stewardship, setting it apart in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

This recognition was further bolstered by two significant certifications: the “Engagé RSE” label with an “Exemplary” status, awarded by AFNOR, and the international “Responsibility Europe” label. These distinctions underscore Oulmès’ leadership in sustainability, affirming its national and regional standing as a model for corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Leading the region in social responsibility

By winning the top award at the 17th Arabia CSR Awards, an event backed by the UN Global Compact and the League of Arab States, Oulmès has distinguished itself among MENA’s most responsible enterprises. Established in 2008, this award has seen over 1,300 applications from more than 1,100 organizations across 15 Arab nations, recognizing those whose initiatives make significant contributions to environmental sustainability and societal impact.

Through these awards, Oulmès highlights how Moroccan businesses can lead in CSR, consistently promoting transparency, inclusivity, equity, and sound governance across its operations.

Exclusive recognition with “Engagé RSE” exemplary status

The “Engagé RSE” label, achieved at the “Exemplary” level, is particularly notable as Les Eaux Minérales d’Oulmès is the only Moroccan company to hold this prestigious certification. This label, based on 55 stringent criteria, evaluates governance, social development, regional engagement, and sustainable production methods. Grounded in international benchmarks like the UN Global Compact’s ten principles and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, it offers a continuous assessment of a company’s contribution to the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) under the 2030 agenda.

Naoufel Jellal, General Director of Les Eaux Minérales d’Oulmès, emphasized the company’s commitment: “These certifications are more than accolades; they affirm our values of transparency, inclusivity, and good governance. We are dedicated to creating a lasting positive impact for all our stakeholders, both nationally and internationally.”

A strategic vision for sustainable growth

Oulmès continues to champion change within its industry, proving that business success can align with sustainable practices. Through an integrated CSR strategy, the company is setting a powerful example of how economic performance can drive a greener, more socially responsible future.
