A business delegation from Luxembourg, led by Economy Minister Lex Delles, will visit Morocco from 4 to 7 May 2026 to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, infrastructure and digital technology.

The visit includes government officials and around 20 companies, organised by the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce. It comes as Morocco speeds up major projects in transport, industry, telecoms and energy, while drawing more foreign investment.

A key event during the trip is the Morocco Luxembourg Economic Forum on 5 May, organised with the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM). It will bring companies from both countries together to discuss business deals and partnerships.

The timing matches Morocco’s big infrastructure push linked to the 2030 FIFA World Cup. The country is upgrading ports, railways and telecom networks, including nationwide 5G and fibre optic systems completed in 2025.

Digital projects are also growing, after deals signed at Gitex Africa 2026 for private 5G networks and AI data centres. Luxembourg firms are expected to look for opportunities in cybersecurity, fintech and digital services.

Morocco’s economy is forecast to grow by 3.8% in 2026. Foreign investment rose strongly in 2024, and S&P Global Ratings upgraded Morocco to investment grade in 2025, which has improved confidence among investors.

Trade between the two countries is also moving towards higher value products, including plastics, aircraft parts and electrical equipment from Luxembourg to Morocco.

Officials are also expected to explore cooperation in clean energy, especially green hydrogen, where Morocco has large plans and Luxembourg has experience in cross-border energy projects.

The visit aims to deepen business ties and help Luxembourg companies take part in Morocco’s growing role as a major hub for industry and technology in Africa.
