Mohamed Ali Bensouda has been appointed Secretary General of the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG), a newly created role that reports directly to the CEO. This strategic position brings together key functions of the organization, placing Bensouda at the heart of decision-making and operational oversight across several vital areas, including corporate strategy, financial management, asset supervision, performance tracking, regulatory affairs, human resources, digital innovation, and international partnerships.

The creation of this new role coincides with the removal of the Deputy CEO position, signaling a significant reorganization at the top of CDG’s leadership structure. The Secretary General will now oversee what the institution considers the central drivers of its transformation and long-term planning.

Bensouda’s portfolio will include steering the development of group strategy and ensuring its execution, overseeing financial operations, managing strategic investments and holdings, and maintaining ongoing dialogue with government ministries, public institutions, and regional authorities. He will also be responsible for regulatory compliance, risk governance, resource allocation, performance management, human capital development, digital modernization, and strengthening international cooperation.

With a career spanning 26 years within CDG, Bensouda brings deep institutional knowledge and a wealth of leadership experience. He has previously held senior roles in pension management, social security, asset management, and investment. An alumnus of the National School of Mining Industry and holder of an MBA from the prestigious École des Ponts, Bensouda will continue to oversee the Savings and Social Protection division during a transitional phase.

This leadership shift comes as CDG advances its strategic agenda, aiming to streamline its governance and strengthen its ability to drive economic development in line with national priorities.
