Businesses across the country could get greater access to investment as the Mohammed VI Investment Fund plans to commit 8.8 billion dirhams in 2026, with total payments reaching 2.1 billion dirhams. The figures come from a report on public establishments and enterprises published by the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Public Performance alongside the 2027 draft finance bill.

The fund is expanding its investment tools to attract private money and support projects in sectors considered a priority for the economy.

The fund is increasing its direct investment in strategic sectors, including through its stake in Energie Electrique de Tahaddart.

It is also part of a partnership between the government, the fund, Taqa Morocco, Nareva and the National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE).

The agreement covers strategic water and energy projects with a planned investment of nearly 130 billion dirhams.

The fund launched a pilot programme in June 2026 to support 22 Moroccan companies from all 12 regions of the country.

The scheme aims to make it easier for these businesses to secure financing, particularly through equity and quasi-equity instruments. These allow companies to raise money through ownership stakes or financing that has features of both debt and equity.

The fund plans to launch a new generation of investment funds in 2027 and continue supporting strategic projects. The aim is to attract more private investment.

It is also working to include environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors in its investment decisions, risk management and reporting.
