Moroccan aeronautics exports soar by 20.3% in 2024

Exports in Morocco’s aeronautics sector reached 15.34 billion dirhams (MMDH) during the first seven months of 2024, marking a 20.3% increase compared to the same period in 2023, according to the Office des Changes. This growth is attributed to a significant rise in sales from the Assembly segment, up 32.4% to 10.04 MMDH, and a 2.2% increase in sales from the EWIS (Electrical Wiring Interconnection System) segment, which reached 5.21 MMDH.

The report also highlighted a boost in automotive exports, which grew by 8.5% to 92.75 MMDH. This growth was driven by an 18.3% increase in the “Interior vehicles and seats” segment, a 7.3% rise in “Construction,” and an 8.3% increase in “Cabling.”

In the “Phosphates and Derivatives” sector, exports rose by 14.1% to 46.16 MMDH. This improvement includes a 49.4% surge in phosphate sales, an 11.2% increase in natural and chemical fertilizers, and a 10.3% growth in phosphoric acid sales.

Conversely, exports in other sectors saw declines. The “Textiles and Leather” sector dropped by 2.1% to 27.94 MMDH, “Other industries” decreased by 3.3% to 15.82 MMDH, “Electronics and Electricity” fell by 2.6% to 10.18 MMDH, and the “Agriculture and Agri-food” sector saw a slight decrease of 0.9%, reaching 51.13 MMDH.
