Morocco Achieves ‘Significant’ Progress in Reproductive Health

Morocco has made “significant” progress in reproductive health thanks to the joint action of several stakeholders, the Director of Population Health at the Ministry of Health Abdelhakim Yahyane said.

“Sexual and reproductive health continues to receive increasing attention and mobilization from all stakeholders to achieve significant progress in line with the targets of the global development agenda,” Yahyane said at the opening ceremony of the Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights Consortium.

Hence, the Ministry of Health has developed the 2021-2030 National Strategy for Sexual and Reproductive Health, which is an opportunity to address new challenges and better meet the needs of individuals in sexual and reproductive health, the official noted.

The first consortium for sexual and reproductive health rights kicked off on Wednesday in Rabat.

Participants to the consortium include civil society actors and officials from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFP).
