Moroccan companies making cosmetics, skincare products and medicines will soon have access to a wider range of specialty ingredients after Morocco was included in an expanded distribution deal between Univar Solutions and American Distilling.
The agreement covers the distribution of American Distilling’s ingredients across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. These include witch hazel extracts, alcohol-free options and other ingredients used in cosmetics, personal care products and pharmaceuticals.
Morocco is one of several countries included in the expanded network, alongside Tunisia, Algeria, Turkey, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands and several Central and Eastern European markets.
Under the deal, Univar Solutions will distribute American Distilling’s product range across these countries. The company is also expanding its offering of botanical extracts for use by manufacturers in the beauty, personal care, and pharmaceutical sectors.
The announcement comes as Morocco’s cosmetics and personal care market continues to grow. The sector is now worth more than $1 billion, with demand rising for plant-based ingredients and clean beauty products.
Morocco’s pharmaceutical industry is also expanding. The country produces more than 70% of the medicines it needs locally, making it one of the leading pharmaceutical producers in the region.
The new agreement will allow American Distilling to sell its full range of cosmetic and pharmaceutical witch hazel extracts in all the countries covered by the partnership.
According to the companies, the goal is to give customers more choice and help businesses secure a more reliable supply of ingredients.
The inclusion of Morocco reflects growing interest among international speciality ingredient suppliers in the Moroccan market, as local manufacturers seek more sourcing options and stronger supply chains.
The move also strengthens Morocco’s position as a manufacturing and business hub for North Africa.
