Morocco coach Mohamed Ouahbi has named a 26-man squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Gabon and Lesotho. Ouahbi announced the squad on Thursday at a press conference at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé.
The squad includes several new faces, including Anderlecht striker Toufik Bentayeb, Schalke 04 player Oussama El Faouzi and Ajax youngster Abdellah Ouazane.
Established internationals such as Achraf Hakimi, Yassine Bounou and Brahim Diaz are also included.
Morocco will open their 2027 AFCON qualifying campaign against Gabon on Friday, 25 September, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
They will then travel to Bloemfontein, South Africa, to face Lesotho on Tuesday, 29 September.
The squad is:
Goalkeepers: Yassine Bounou, Munir Mohamedi, Reda Tagnaouti, Alaa Bellaarouch.
Defenders: Noussair Mazraoui, Anass Salah-Eddine, Marouane Saadane, Nayef Aguerd, Redouane Halhal, Achraf Hakimi, Issa Diop, Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal, Zakaria El Ouahdi, Ali Maamar.
Midfielders: Samir Mourabit, Ayoub Bouaddi, Neil El Aynaoui, Oussama Targhalline, Bilal El Khannouss, Soufiane El Faouzi, Ismael Saibari, Azzedine Ounahi.
Forwards: Brahim Diaz, Abdellah Ouazane, Soufiane Rahimi, Yassine Gessime, Abde Ezzalzouli, Toufik Bentayeb, Yasser Zabiri.
The qualifiers are part of the process to determine the teams that will compete at the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
