AgriEdge has revealed two new digital tools for farmers at the 2026 International Agriculture Show in Morocco (SIAM), moving into livestock management and olive production.
The company, created within the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic ecosystem, introduced CattleEdge and FertiEdge Olive as part of efforts to modernise key farming sectors.
New system to monitor cattle health
AgriEdge presented CattleEdge, its first product focused on livestock. The tool uses an IoT collar to track animal health in real time.
It monitors rumination and behaviour to spot early signs of illness or stress, detects heat periods to improve breeding, and provides data to help farmers cut costs and boost herd productivity.
AI platform for olive farms
The second tool, FertiEdge Olive, targets Morocco’s olive industry. The AI platform uses satellite images and soil and leaf analysis to give fertiliser advice.
Early trials suggest it can reduce mineral fertiliser use by 20% to 30%, raise yields by up to 25% over three seasons, and improve oil quality while keeping production stable.
Part of Morocco’s wider farming strategy
The launches support Morocco’s Generation Green 2020–2030 strategy, which aims to double agricultural GDP and connect two million farmers to digital platforms.
After several years of drought, rainfall has improved in 2026 and cereal production is expected to reach 90 million quintals. Officials say climate-smart technology remains essential for long-term resilience.
AgriEdge’s wider portfolio includes AquaEdge, a system designed to save up to 30% of water.
Key sectors for the economy
Livestock represents about 35% of agricultural GDP and supports millions of rural jobs. Morocco’s herd is estimated at 33 million animals, making digital monitoring a priority for food security.
Olive production is expected to reach 2.2 million tonnes by 2026, with precision fertilisation seen as key to staying competitive in global olive oil markets.
Optimism at SIAM 2026
Agriculture Minister Ahmed El Bouari said agricultural GDP could grow by 15% this year as water reserves stand at around 76% capacity.
On the sidelines of the event, Morocco also strengthened cooperation with Portugal and Spain on biosecurity and sustainable food systems, including automated greenhouse management and vaccination protocols.
AgriEdge continues to benefit from partnerships between the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic, the OCP Foundation and the Ministry of Agriculture to integrate AI and satellite tools into national farming policy.
