Morocco’s airports recorded record passenger numbers on some of the busiest days of summer 2026, as demand for air travel continued to grow across the country. Casablanca’s Mohammed V Airport handled 46,439 passengers in 24 hours during the first weekend of August, the highest daily figure recorded at the airport.
Other major airports also reported heavy traffic. Marrakech Menara handled more than 30,000 passengers in a single day, while Tangier Ibn Battouta recorded 13,309. Agadir Al Massira processed 11,973 passengers and Rabat-Salé 9,226.
Traffic also rose sharply at regional airports. Dakhla recorded a 45.2% increase in passengers on its busiest day, while Tétouan saw traffic rise by 36.14%.
The figures build on a record year for Morocco’s airports in 2025, when the country’s airports handled 36.3 million passengers.
The country’s airport operator, Airports of Morocco, said the growth was being supported by its Aéroports 2030 plan, which includes expanding terminal capacity, upgrading infrastructure and introducing more digital services.
It also said managing the summer peak required co-operation between airports, the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, the General Directorate for National Security, customs, the Royal Gendarmerie and Royal Air Maroc.
The operator said expanding air connections would remain important to meeting future demand and strengthening Morocco’s international links.
