More than 300 business leaders from Morocco and France gathered in Dakhla on Thursday for a high-level forum focused on deepening economic ties between the two nations.

Over the course of two days, the Morocco–France Economic Forum brings together key players from the private sector on both sides of the Mediterranean. Co-organized by Morocco’s General Confederation of Enterprises and France’s leading employers’ association, MEDEF, the event aims to spark fresh avenues for collaboration across several strategic sectors, including infrastructure, energy, agribusiness, and services.

A wide range of pressing economic topics are on the agenda, from the Royal Atlantic Initiative and food security to clean energy transitions, decarbonization strategies, tourism development, and vocational training. These discussions have drawn a diverse mix of business executives and institutional figures from both countries, highlighting the strong interest in building a shared economic future.

The forum follows closely on the heels of President Emmanuel Macron’s recent state visit to Morocco and continues the momentum launched in Rabat in 2024, when the two countries signed around twenty cooperation agreements covering various industries.

Choosing Dakhla as the host city sends a clear message. Organizers see this southern Moroccan hub as more than just a scenic location—it represents a growing ambition to turn the region into a strategic gateway between Europe and Africa, offering new opportunities for investment, innovation, and economic partnership.
