Morocco will send 120 athletes to the 2026 Mediterranean Games in Taranto, Italy, from 21 August to 3 September. The squad includes 72 men and 48 women who will compete in 18 sports. The Moroccan National Olympic Committee completed the registration after receiving athlete lists from the Royal Moroccan Sports Federations under the approved qualification rules.
Football has the biggest squad with 36 players across the men’s and women’s teams. Athletics follows with 25 athletes, while boxing has nine, karate seven and taekwondo six.
Five athletes will compete in each of judo, tennis and wrestling. The remaining athletes will take part in fencing, gymnastics, weightlifting, swimming, padel, boules sports, equestrian, shooting, triathlon and sailing.

The squad mixes experienced athletes with younger talent ahead of the regional multi-sport event.
Football makes up the largest share of the delegation, accounting for 36 of the 120 athletes. Athletics is another key discipline, with competitors expected to take part in middle-distance races, the steeplechase and the half marathon.
Combat sports also have a strong presence. Morocco will field 27 athletes across boxing, karate, taekwondo and judo.
The Mediterranean Games bring together athletes from 26 countries across Europe, Africa and Asia. Morocco has regularly finished among the leading African nations at the event, with athletics and combat sports winning many of its medals.
