Lamia Lahlou Marzouki, the Deputy CEO of Casablanca Finance City Authority, has been elected President of the World Alliance of International Financial Centers (WAIFC) during its annual general meeting held in Tokyo on October 15. She will officially take over the role in January 2025, succeeding Keiichi Aritomo.

A graduate of both ESSEC Business School and Harvard, Lamia Lahlou Marzouki has served as Vice President of the WAIFC for the past two years, where she played an instrumental role in boosting the attractiveness and expertise of international financial centers around the globe. Lahlou Marzouki’s journey with Casablanca Finance City (CFC) began in 2010 when she became the first hire of CEO Saïd Ibrahim. Over the years, she has helped shape CFC into a leading financial hub, driving initiatives that have enhanced its global reputation and competitive edge.
As the newly elected President, Lahlou Marzouki is poised to further strengthen collaboration between global financial centers. Joining Lahlou Marzouki in this new leadership role is Hubertus Väth, CEO of Frankfurt Main Finance, who was elected Vice President. Together, they aim to drive forward initiatives that will enhance the global reach and impact of financial centers.
