Tourism revenues in Morocco reached an unprecedented 17 billion dirhams (MMDH) in August 2024, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy. This represents a nearly 20% increase compared to August 2023, setting a new monthly record, the ministry stated in a release.
This positive trend extends throughout 2024, with cumulative revenues rising by 7%, reaching 76.4 MMDH during the first eight months of the year.
“These results confirm the unparalleled momentum of Moroccan tourism. This revenue record is backed by an exceptional number of arrivals: 1.8 million in August and 11.8 million since the beginning of the year,” said Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy.
She added, “These figures demonstrate the effectiveness of our roadmap. We aim to sustain this momentum by diversifying and enriching our local experiences, which will help extend and enhance the stays of our visitors.”
