This summer, nearly 2,000 children from the Moroccan provinces of Khouribga and Fquih Ben Salah will take part in a series of free summer camps, thanks to an initiative led by the OCP Group in collaboration with local associations. The program, part of the broader 2025 National Summer Camps campaign under the patronage of King Mohammed VI, is being coordinated by the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication.
Designed to give all children—whether from rural or urban areas—equal access to meaningful leisure experiences, the camps aim to do more than just entertain. They offer a chance for children to build cultural awareness, develop social and technical skills, and grow through exposure to diversity, civic values, and teamwork. This year’s sessions are being held in coastal towns, providing many of these children with a rare opportunity to travel and experience new environments.
Since the program’s launch in 2014, over 15,000 children have benefited from these community-backed camps. With that experience as a foundation, Act4Community Khouribga is expanding its efforts with an even more inclusive model. Local textile cooperatives are crafting the uniforms for the children, while specialized youth associations are tasked with organizing and leading the educational and recreational activities.
For the 2025 edition, 30 officially recognized associations will run the camps across five separate phases. More than 200 trained counselors will oversee activities for children aged 7 to 15, representing 35 different municipalities.
The second phase kicks off Monday, July 14, departing from the Khouribga media library. Around 770 children, supported by 18 different associations, will travel to camps located in Souiriya, El Haouzia, Beddouza, Sidi Taibi, Driouch, Témara, Ras El Ma, and the Diplomatic Forest near Tangier.
