The National Office of Railways (ONCF) is taking part in InnoTrans 2026 in Berlin, where railway companies and transport experts are meeting to present new technologies and discuss the future of the sector. The 15th edition of the event runs from 22 to 25 September at Messe Berlin. More than 3,100 exhibitors from around 60 countries are expected to attend.
ONCF is returning to InnoTrans two years after its last participation in 2024. The railway operator presented its projects to modernise the national rail network at that edition.
This year’s event marks 30 years since InnoTrans was launched in 1996.
Technology is a major focus of the 2026 edition. Artificial intelligence, robotics, automation and new train propulsion systems are among the main topics.
Organisers will also present 180 new technologies to industry professionals for the first time.
The exhibition covers all 42 halls at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds, with about 200,000 square metres of exhibition space. A 3,500-metre railway track will also be used to display 113 vehicles from 17 countries.
A special AI Mobility Lab will focus on artificial intelligence, robotics, automation and cybersecurity in transport.
Rail links between Europe and Africa will also receive more attention this year. A new African-European industry dialogue on railways will take place on 23 September.
The meeting will bring together African government bodies and railway authorities with European railway companies and development-finance institutions. Discussions will focus on investment, technology transfers and cooperation between the two regions.
The event comes as ONCF continues to upgrade the national railway network, including the expansion of high-speed rail services and improvements to existing routes.
