Oncorad names Dr Hamza Samlali to lead new medical division

Moroccan healthcare group Oncorad has created a new medical affairs division to support its expansion and the development of new medical and surgical specialties. The Casablanca-based group announced the move on 8 October, appointing Dr Hamza Samlali, a radiation oncologist at its Littoral Clinic Ain Diab since 2017, to lead the new division.

The Chief Medical Affairs Office will report directly to the group’s presidency and work alongside its existing Medical and Health Directorate and the medical management teams at its facilities.

Its responsibilities will include expanding medical services, strengthening partnerships with other medical professionals and institutions, supporting the growth of its facilities, and promoting research and innovation.

The group said the new structure would improve coordination between its facilities and help develop a wider range of medical services.

Dr Samlali trained at Casablanca University Hospital and Hospices Civils de Lyon in France. He holds a specialised master’s degree in health management and marketing from ISCAE and is deputy secretary-general of the Moroccan Society of Oncology.

“Our goal is to make the medicine of tomorrow accessible to every Moroccan,” the group said in its statement.

Founded in 2000 by Professor Redouane Samlali and Dr Omar Hajji, Oncorad initially focused on cancer treatment.

It has since expanded into broader medical care through two brands: Littoral Clinic, which specialises in oncology, and Oceanic Clinic, which provides multidisciplinary care.

The group’s services include advanced medical imaging, medical oncology, modern radiotherapy, intensive care for adults and newborns, robotic surgery and nuclear medicine.

Oncorad says these services are intended to improve diagnosis, treatment and patient follow-up through more personalised and coordinated care.

In 2023, the group brought in investment from STOA and Cap Mezzanine 3 to strengthen its capacity to invest and support its expansion.
