Orange Maroc teams up with AWS to launch cutting-edge cloud solution

In a groundbreaking move for Morocco’s digital landscape, Orange Maroc has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to bring AWS Wavelength to the country. This launch marks the first AWS Wavelength zone in both Morocco and Africa, reinforcing Orange Maroc’s commitment to driving digital transformation across businesses and government institutions. The initiative aligns with Morocco’s ambitious “Digital 2030 Strategy” by boosting local access to advanced cloud services.

AWS Wavelength integrates AWS infrastructure directly within telecommunications networks, enabling low-latency applications and data localization. By introducing this technology, Orange Maroc offers enterprises scalable and secure cloud infrastructure designed for industries with strict data regulations and latency-sensitive applications, such as finance, healthcare, and media.

With AWS Wavelength, Orange Maroc provides Moroccan organizations with enhanced flexibility to develop and deploy digital solutions locally. The platform is particularly suited to industries where data sovereignty is critical—ensuring sensitive information stays within national borders while maintaining world-class reliability and security standards.

Orange Maroc is also offering expert consultation services to support companies transitioning to the cloud. This end-to-end assistance leverages the telecom operator’s deep experience in both communications technology and cloud services. Furthermore, Orange Maroc will be migrating some of its own IT infrastructure to AWS Wavelength, accelerating its internal digital transformation.

Hind Lfal, Chief Business Officer at Orange Maroc, emphasized the importance of data security and compliance in this collaboration: “In line with our multi-cloud strategy and our partnership with AWS, we’re proud to offer cutting-edge cloud solutions tailored to the needs of Moroccan businesses and public institutions. Given the sensitivity of local data, AWS computation and storage services will be hosted in our national data center, adhering to international standards. This ensures our clients meet regulatory requirements for applications that require localized data hosting. We are also launching the full range of AWS services to provide businesses with the full spectrum of cloud benefits, supporting their compliance and innovation goals.”

This partnership, she added, reflects Orange Maroc’s long-term dedication to supporting the Kingdom’s digital evolution.

AWS Wavelength’s localized deployment opens new possibilities for cloud-based services across Morocco. Businesses can take advantage of tools designed for web hosting, data storage, computing, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and more. These services come with advanced features for data protection, access management, and continuity, ensuring high resilience and security.

Orange Maroc’s role doesn’t end with technology deployment—it’s also offering support for hybrid cloud adoption. This allows businesses to transition quickly and securely, freeing up IT teams to focus on innovation rather than infrastructure upkeep.
