Les Eaux Minérales d’Oulmès has been named the best place to work in Africa, taking first place in the Best Place to Work Africa ranking.

The Moroccan company has already won similar awards at home. The continental title now puts it ahead of major international firms operating across Africa.

The ranking is based largely on staff feedback. Workers are asked, in anonymous surveys, about trust in management, pride in their work and relations with colleagues. Companies that score highest across these areas rise to the top.

In the case of Les Eaux Minérales d’Oulmès, the judges pointed to a work culture built on trust, listening and shared responsibility. The firm was also praised for its long-term focus on inclusion, staff wellbeing and career development.

Founded in 1933, the company is part of the Holmarcom Group, one of Morocco’s largest private business groups. It produces some of the country’s best-known bottled water brands, including Oulmès and Sidi Ali.

Alongside its workplace policies, the firm has invested in modern factories and greener packaging, with a push to cut its carbon footprint. Managers say putting people first is central to the company’s long-term success.
