With the launch of the all-new 408, PEUGEOT Morocco is shaking up the conventional boundaries of the compact segment by introducing a boldly styled model that defies easy classification. Unveiled on May 20 in Casablanca, the vehicle blends the sleekness of a sedan with the elevated stance of an SUV, presenting itself as a unique fastback that stands apart from the crowd.
Borrowing design cues from the 3008 and 5008, the 408 features a sharply sculpted silhouette, assertive ground clearance, and a design language that leans toward the expressive and unconventional. Its body-colored grille bears the brand’s updated emblem, while signature fang-like headlights and a rear bumper with an inverted cut give the car an identity that’s hard to pigeonhole.
Inside, PEUGEOT focuses on comfort and innovation. A generous 2.79-meter wheelbase delivers ample cabin space, especially in the back, where passengers enjoy 188 millimeters of legroom. The luggage compartment is equally versatile, offering 536 liters of storage that expands to more than 1,600 liters with the rear seats folded flat.
Under the hood, the 408 comes equipped with a 145-horsepower mild hybrid petrol engine, paired with PEUGEOT’s dual-clutch e-DCS6 automatic transmission. This setup is designed to strike a balance between fuel efficiency, driving comfort, and responsive performance.
The onboard experience is elevated by the brand’s signature i-Cockpit, which includes a high-definition 3D digital cluster, a customizable touchscreen, and a compact steering wheel for a sportier feel. Tech-wise, the 408 is loaded with advanced driving aids such as adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, and driver attention alerts.
Now available across PEUGEOT Morocco’s network, the 408 starts at 317,000 dirhams, offering a compelling option for drivers seeking a blend of style, technology, and versatility in a distinctive package.
