Moroccan hotel group RISMA has appointed Houda Skali to its Management Board as it looks to support its next stage of growth. The company said its Supervisory Board approved the appointment as part of efforts to strengthen its leadership and deliver its growth strategy.

In a statement, RISMA said the move “is part of the Group’s commitment to strengthening its governance to support its continued development and the implementation of its growth strategy.”

Skali has been RISMA’s Operations Director since 2021. During that time, she helped roll out the company’s main strategic projects.

RISMA said “she contributed to the deployment of RISMA’s main strategic initiatives” and added that “her expertise, cross functional vision and commitment are key assets to support the Group’s ambitions.”

The company also congratulated Skali on her appointment and wished her success in her new role.

RISMA runs under a dual governance system, with a Management Board handling the company’s day to day business and a Supervisory Board providing strategic oversight.

The appointment comes as RISMA continues to expand after a period of change. The company, which is listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange, was long the main investment partner of French hotel group Accor in Morocco. Accor later sold its 33% stake in RISMA to Mutuelle Agricole Marocaine d’Assurances, better known as MAMDA.

Morocco’s growing tourism sector is also expected to create new opportunities for the hotel operator. The country aims to attract 17.5 million tourists by 2026 and is preparing to co host the 2030 FIFA World Cup with Spain and Portugal, a move expected to increase demand for hotels and hospitality services.
