Morocco’s national carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has obtained the “Cargo iQ” certification for meeting quality management standards of the air cargo industry, thus becoming the first African airline to receive this prestigious recognition.
With this reward, Royal Air Maroc joins the list of major global air carriers, freight forwarders, ground-handling agents, trucking companies, and IT solution providers that seek to implement quality standards for the worldwide air cargo industry, a RAM statement said.
Royal Air Maroc was also awarded two supplementary stars in recognition of the carrier’s performance in the “Corporate Social Responsibility” and “Innovative Spirit” categories.
Valid for 3 years following an audit by the SGS certification body, the renewable certification follows Royal Air Maroc’s membership of the Cargo iQ community in 2019.
Founded in 1997 by major airlines and freight forwarders within the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the Cargo iQ interest group’s mission is to create and implement quality standards for the cargo and supply chain industry worldwide. The group counts more than 60 members.
