Royal Air Maroc has officially launched a new nonstop service connecting Casablanca and Munich, further deepening air travel ties between Morocco and Germany. The inaugural flight took off Monday afternoon from Mohammed V Airport, touching down in the Bavarian capital just over four hours later.

The airline will now operate two weekly round-trip flights between the two cities, scheduled on Mondays and Fridays, targeting one of Europe’s leading economic hubs. The arrival in Munich was marked by a festive atmosphere in the terminal, complete with live music and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The celebration brought together travelers, Moroccan expatriates, airline staff, diplomats, and local officials.

To honor the occasion, the plane was greeted on the tarmac with a traditional water salute—a symbolic arch of water jets created by the airport’s fire department, witnessed by the crew and local dignitaries.

With this new route, Munich becomes Royal Air Maroc’s second regular destination in Germany, joining Frankfurt, where the airline already operates daily flights to Casablanca. In addition, the airline runs seasonal services from Düsseldorf and Frankfurt to the northern Moroccan cities of Nador and Oujda.

This latest expansion answers the rising demand for travel between the two countries—not only from tourists and business travelers, but also from the Moroccan diaspora. The route is also expected to draw passengers from neighboring countries such as Austria and Switzerland, broadening its impact across the region.

As Royal Air Maroc’s central hub, Casablanca will offer German travelers convenient onward connections to several African capitals, especially in West Africa. On the other side of the route, Munich’s role as a major industrial and tech center makes it a valuable gateway for Moroccan and African business interests in Europe.

The Casablanca-Munich route is part of a broader strategy by Royal Air Maroc to grow its international network and cement its role as a key connector between Africa, Europe, and beyond. The airline continues to roll out new routes to strengthen its position as a vital link in global air travel.
